The Mammut Peak Project – Update

Fancy joining a mountaineering expedition , courtesy of Mammut? Well here’s your chance.

If you haven’t seen it already, Mammut are celebrating their 150th birthday with a massive project. 150 teams will scale 150 mountains. If you are part of one of the teams selected you will be joined by a Mammut guide for your expedition and receive some Mammut anniversary kit. The initial team selection is already done, but don’t worry, you can still join an existing team. Just head over to the Peak Project web site and get registered. Good luck.

So, what happened in Stage One of the biggest peak project in history?

  • more than 2.500 users from 80 countries founded their own mountains
  • 38.000+ supporters let those mountains grow
  • more than 300 applicants were invited to Stage Two

What will happen next?

  • Stage Two started at June the 28th
  • the 300+ users from Stage One can now plan their individual tours and build up their teams
  • you can still participate if you register at our climbers-board and get invited by teams still looking for members
  • on the climbers-board you will find all the enthusiastic applicants hoping to secure a place in one of the teams, you can filter them by country, availability and their skill level
  • at the end of Stage Two, a jury decides for the 150 teams which will climb mountains worldwide – to learn more about some of the famous members of the jury, check out this link: About the project.

What happens in Stage Three?

- in this Stage, the teams are rewarded with the Mammut Peaks Collection, which is a special anniversary-edition
- on their trips, they will be accompanied by professional mountain guides of the Mammut Alpine School
- the tours will be documented and published on the campaign website

And all that happens for a good cause:

- as a member of the IFMGA, Mammut is collecting donations for the education and equipment of mountain guides in emerging countries such as Peru or Kirgisistan.
