Sandy Paterson - Mountaineering Instructor

Hi, I am Mountaineering Instructor based in Scotland but also work in North Wales during the Summer months as well as running ice climbing trips to Norway in the winter. I hold the Mountaineering Instructors Certificate (MIC) which is the highest qualification for mountaineering and climbing in the UK. I run my own company Sandy Paterson Mountaineering as well as working for the National Outdoor Centre in Scotland, Glenmore Lodge and other companies like Jagged Globe.

I am happiest when either playing or working in the Mountains, anywhere in the world. I particularly like the joys of winter, all that snow and ice! On the other hand, sometimes you can’t beat just cruising up a rock route in a t-shirt……hmmm maybe I just like it all!
