Post Climbing Finger Repair – Joshua Tree Climbing Salve

Joshua Tree Climbing Salve
You’re probably groaning and saying “Oh no, not another climbers’ balm!”, but before you hit the back button, there are some interesting things you should know about JTree’s Climbing Salve.
1. This is not a new product.
Joshua Tree have been making skin care products for climber’s hands for 10 years. It’s just pretty new to the UK.
2. It contains less beeswax than competing products, meaning it gets absorbed more quickly, and feels much softer and easier to apply.
3. It’s a pretty good price: £10.95 for 50ml
4. It’s made from the highest quality organic ingredients:
Premium ingredients:
- Beeswax
- Cocoa butter
- Coconut oil
- Jojoba oil
- Lavender oil
- Mint oil
- OM-Cinnamate
- Sunflower Oil
- Tea Tree Oil
- Vanilla Oil
- Vitamin E
Freshly ground and slow roasted:
- Benzoin gum
- Calendula
- Chaparral
- Comfrey
- Echinacea
- Myrrh gum
Totally natural and inorganic ingredients:
- Mica
- Silica Micro Spheres
- Iron Oxide
- Micro Zinc Oxide
You can find out more about these ingredients over at Joshua Tree’s web site.
So what’s it like?
My first impression when I opened the jar was that I liked the smell. Secondly, I prefer the soft salve to the hard block type balms I’ve used in the past. It’s easy to rub in, and although like all products of this nature, it feels greasy at first, it doesn’t take long to soak in. I’m told that if it hasn’t soaked in within 10 minutes, you’ve put too much on.
Overall, I would say that Climbing Salve is definitely worth a look.
