James Mason
Hey, my name is James Mason, I’m an ‘evening and weekend climber’ fortunately residing in Sheffield, right beside the gritstone capital of the UK – The Peak District. Being that I spend well over 35 hours within an office and 15 hours commuting per week, climbing is the ideal exciting and exhausting pursuit for me.
I was ‘roped’ into climbing around a year and a half ago by my brother, ‘The Edge’ being my first climbing centre experience and ever since then, giving it my all up a 13 meter wall in Nike trainers, I have been hungry to progress and become the best climber that I can, replacing the trainers for climbing shoes.
I enjoy bold, precarious and ‘pumpy’ trad routes or boulder problems requiring ideal conditions and complete focus, which I often manage to find with Stanage Edge, Millstone, Lawrencefield or Burbage to choose from. These experiences I would like to share via articles, photos and videos.
My other interests include spending time with my girlfriend, wakeboarding and surfing. However I can’t manage the latter two, as often as I would like, due to costs and my non-coastal location.
You can catch me on:
Have fun and climb safe.
