Adam Ondra throws some shapes at the 'La Sportiva-Legends Only' competition
The ‘La Sportva-Legends Only’ competition was held last week in Stockholm, Sweden at the the Klattercentret. The format of the competition was unique & new … an invitation only event where the competitors spend two hours the day before the competition working the problems as a collective. On top of this, there is no isolation like in IFSC comps, so each climber can use their opponents beta & each climber knows what they need to do if they want to win, whereas in IFSC comps, climbers don’t find out until the end who has scored the most points and takes the gold (although the reaction from the crowds is usually a pretty good indicator!).
The worlds bouldering elite were pared down to the following five:
- Adam Ondra
- Paul Robinson
- Daniel Woods
- Dmitry Sharafutdinov
- Andy Gullsten
In front of a crowd of 500, the worlds best did not disappoint.
